Note 1: Approximately 0.1% of the dogs have been registered with a wrong gender. This was only corrected in the database if this wrong gender could be confirmed by later use of the dog for breeding. Therefor some names below that are clearly male or female, like Meg, Nell or Ben, still have counts for the other gender.
Note 2: Although the database has been constructed with great care, some names might be wrongly spelt because some of the dogs only occur a single time in the ISDS stud books and the automated processing of the books was not completely faultless on those single occurences (also see the article ISDS Border Collie Database).
